Kagadi
Parents of Kabuga Demonstration Nursery and Primary School in Kagadi District are demanding justice after their children, who were supposed to sit for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in 2025, were instead given fake examinations by the school.

Kabuga Demonstration Nursery and Primary School, located in Kabuga Trading Centre, Muhorro Sub-County in Kagadi District, had 12 Primary Seven candidates in 2025. However, it is alleged that the school director, Mukwasira Titas, commonly known as Tito, gave them fake PLE exams that were not official UNEB examinations.

According to the parents, Tito deceived them by claiming that schools with UNEB sitting centres in Kagadi were jealous of him, and that this was the reason he decided to register the candidates under Kitaihuka Primary School in Kyenjojo District.

Parents further state that their children reported sitting the same suspicious exams at Rubona Primary School in Kyenjojo District, raising doubts about the authenticity of the entire process.

James Natukunda and Gloria Katushabe both parents said that after the Ministry of Education and sports released the 2025 PLE results, parents attempted to check their children’s results using their phones, but found no records. This confirmed their fears of fraud. They then demanded recommendation letters from the school, but these too were found to be fake.

Parents say some had taken loans to educate their children, while others had already paid school fees for secondary education.

The pupils also described the unusual and troubling conditions under which they sat these exams.

The Kagadi District Inspector of Schools in charge of Buyaga West, Alinda Julius Mpigiza, confirmed that the school is in poor condition and is operating illegally.

Despite the alleged fraud against parents and pupils, there exists a letter pinned in the school office reportedly from district education authorities authorizing the school to operate. However, the Inspector of Schools declined to comment on this letter.

As pressure mounted from parents and authorities, the school school director Titas Mukwasira reportedly sensed danger and fled the area to an unknown destination.
