The Bishop of Hoima catholic diocese Rt.Rev.Vincent Kirabo on Saturday marked 10 years of episcopacy at a grand celebration held at St.Charles Lwanga Kahunde, his home parish.

The function attracted many people from various divides including Christians, clergy, politicians, civil servants, among other distinguished guests.

Bishop Kirabo who was the chief celebrant said Hoima catholic diocese started with only seven parishes, but because of the growing numbers of catholic Christians, the number of parishes has increased to 52 including Weiragaza parish in Kyangwari Sub-County Kikuube district pending commissioning on 9th May, 2026.

In his homily, Bishop Kirabo asked Christians to put Jesus first at the fore front of all their endeavours to achieve success.

He urges Christians to embrace cooperation and hard work to enhance their household incomes.

Bishop Kirabo also led the re-dedication of St.Charles Lwanga Kahunde Catholic Church and inauguration of Kahunde comitium, urging Christians to deepen their faith in Christ.

The prelate also led a fundraising drive where Forty One million, Two hundred fifty two thousand (41.252.000), Ugandan Shillings was fetched towards the construction of the specialised hospital for women and children at the diocesan headquarters, Bujumbura.

Rev.Fr.John Bosco Ruboija the Parish priest for St.Charles Lwanga Kahunde parish says the ten years of  Bishop Kirabo’s episcopacy is a celebrated period of deepened faith and transformation.

The function was also graced by the state minister for public service Mary Grace Mugasa,the Kagadi district Local council five chairperson elect Elly Guard Tumusiime,the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Kibaale John Katontoroma, clergy, among other distinguished guests.
