A section of schools in Kagadi district are rallying parents to return learners to school. This follows a low turn up of learners that was recorded on Monday February, 3rd at the reopening of First academic term.
At some of the schools visited by Paradigm FM on Tuesday February 4th ,2025 , teachers said have started normal lessons despite some children still remaining in villages.
However, some schools especially private institutions have recorded notable improvements in the learners’ turn up of over 60 percent and 100 percent attendance for teachers.
At Katikengeye COU SS,the turn up for learners was at 70%,Katikengeye COU P/S 60%,Trinity SS Mpeefu,60% and at Premier SS Mpeefu learner’s turn up increased to 70%.
In other schools visited,St.Micheal SS Nyankoma the children’s turn up increased to 70%,Kings City Nursery and P/S 75% of their children were present and at St.Charles Nursery and P/S Kagadi,70% of their pupils were present.

They are optimistic more pupils will report during the week.
