As students across Uganda begin their second term holidays, the Kagadi RDC has issued a strong warning to parents and guardians to take serious measures in protecting their children from rising dangers during the break.

Speaking to Paradigm FM at her office in Kagadi town, on Wednesday, Caroline Nanshemeza warned that children often face challenges during holidays due to parental negligence, urging parents to be mindful of their children’s wellbeing both at home and outside.

She highlights the need for parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts, the company they keep, and the individuals entrusted with their care.

Nanshemeza advised the parents to guide their children in using the holiday productively.

She urged parents to teach their children practical skills and engage them in domestic work.

Nanshemeza also encouraged children to show respect and cooperation with their parents during the holiday period by assisting with various activities.

She called on holiday makers to always attend church service and receive sermons that would help shape their moral conduct.

Nanshemeza finally called on communities to work together with security agencies to protect children during the holidays.
