MP Musana warns locals against land fragmentation

The Buyaga East constituency Member of Parliament Eric Musana has warned the people of Bunyoro against land fragmentation.
He made the call last evening at the burial ceremony of late Adrian Kanyentalo in Nyaisamba A,Kiryanga Sub-County in Kagadi district.
He calls on local leaders to sensitise the people against land fragmentation, saying the practice is rampant among the predominantly agriculture-dependent communities and threatens food security.
MP Musana says the biggest challenge facing Ugandan agriculture is land fragmentation associated with the traditional inheritance practices.
He advises the people of Bunyoro Sub-region to shun the practice and instead utilise the land as a family, and not as individuals.
Furthermore, MP Musana also asked the locals to embrace environmental conservation practices such as tree planting to prevent the occurrences of natural disasters.
