The Kagadi district probation officer Steven Banakora Kiyaga has warned parents against subjecting children to child labour during this holiday.
He made the call during an exclusive interview with Paradigm FM at his office in Kagadi town council Kagadi district.
Banakora warns residents against employing children in holidays, saying they would be prosecuted for promoting child labour.
He says cases of child labour are always common in holidays where children are usually seen hawking food items and vegetables on the streets of Kagadi town and other urban centers, which he says the practice violates the children’s rights and is illegal.

The probation officer has also urged parents to shun domestic violence in their homes especially this period when children are at home to avoid sowing bad seeds of violence into the young ones.
