The Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court has dismissed a malicious damage case against Matia Kusiima alias Ssenono, after the complainant failed to show up in court for a couple of months.

Grade one court magistrate Edward Kayuki, in a brief ruling delivered on Friday morning, said the continued absence of the complainant Ponsiano Ssekande aka Mugamba Nansozi had left the court with no option but to dismiss the case.

Mugamba Nansozi a resident of Kenga village in Kagadi Sub-County,had filed a case of malicious damage against Kusiima Matia.

According to court records, the complainant alleged that during July, 2025 while in Kenga village,Kagadi Sub-County, the accused had destroyed a banana plantation of Mugamba nansozi.

His worship Edward Kayuki dismissed the case, citing a lack of evidence and the absence of a valid legal basis from the State prosecutor to proceed with the prosecution in light of the complainant’s persistent absence from the court.

Speaking to Paradigm FM,Matia Kusiima welcomed the ruling saying the case was meant to blackmail his name and reputation.

He says has already consulted his lawyers to file a case of blackmail against the complainant, seeking compensation for the false accusations and other damages.

The ruling brings to an end the case that had been pending before Kagadi Court since July,2025.
