Residents of Nyakarongo Sub-County in Kagadi District are in shock after a 17-year-old girl reportedly delivered a dead creature resembling a colobus monkey.
The teenager, identified as Rosset Ainomugisha from KateremwaA Cell, had dropped out of school after becoming pregnant.
Her family said she delivered the creature at around midnight on wednesday, following a nine-month pregnancy.
They describe the creature as having arms and legs that appeared human, while its head resembled that of a monkey.
Ainomugisha said she felt well and did not experience any complications after the delivery.
Her mother, Maria Namutebe, said Ainomugisha did not reveal the identity of the man responsible for the pregnancy.
Namutebe said the family was shocked when the teenager delivered the dead creature, which they believe resembled a colobus monkey.
The teenager’s uncle, Charles Buzaarwa, said the family remains confused about what was delivered.
By press time, the family and residents had buried the dead creature.
