Kagadi

The late release of government funds has affected service delivery in Kagadi District, with civil servants reportedly going for two months without salaries.

Kagadi District has also not received funds from the central government for the past two months, affecting the implementation of activities in various sectors.

The district is among more than 30 local governments affected by delays linked to the renewal of mandates for Chief Administrative Officers.

Kagadi District Communications Officer George Guryetonda said the financial challenges have affected the operations of the district.

However, Guryetonda said the situation is expected to improve after the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government authorised the Deputy CAO to sign documents needed for the release of funds.

He has appealed to residents and civil servants to remain calm as the district waits for the funds to be released.
