A young couple in Kagadi District is appealing for help after giving birth to a baby diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.
Mark Amanya Dickson 28, and his wife Katusiime Catherine 19, residents of Ruteete West Village in Ruteete Town Council, say their baby developed complications shortly after birth at Kagadi General Hospital and was placed on oxygen support.
The baby was born on 01st May, 2026 at Kagadi District General Hospital after the mother underwent an operation.
Doctors later referred the child to Mulago Heart Institute for specialized treatment estimated to cost over 30 million shillings.
Kahumuza Harriet, a medical worker in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Kagadi District General Hospital, says the baby is suffering from a congenital heart defect requiring urgent medical attention.
The family is now calling on well-wishers for financial support to save the baby’s life.
