25-Year-old found floating dead in water source

Tragedy has befallen Rwentale A in Burora Sub-County after a-25 year old man, Ronald Tumwijuke was found dead in an open water source today morning.

The deceased is believed to have drowned while fetching water.

His body was discovered floating alongside a jerrycan, suggesting he had gone to collect water before the incident.

According to local reports, the deceased had been battling epilepsy, which may have contributed to the fatal accident.

Police officers from Burora Police Post visited the scene and retrieved the body.

It was later handed over to the family for burial arrangements. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The Rwentale A Lc1 chairman Vincent Tukwasiibwe has appealed to the government to improve access to safe and protected water sources.

He emphasized that open and unprotected water points continue to pose a serious risk, not only of drowning but also of spreading waterborne diseases.
